to Dan's Den
Hi! My name is Dan Bezaire, and I live in Puce, the centre of the known universe. Well, it's near Windsor, Ontario which is just across the river from Detroit, Michigan.

Puce is about 15 km (9 miles) east of Windsor on County Road 22 (Highway 2), which is the brown-coloured road on the map. We are about 1 km south of the highway.
I share my humble abode with two females, one human, Adele, and one canine, Jasmine, or Jas
for short. She is not a pure bred (Jas, I mean), but a Lab mix.
(I won't comment on Adele's lineage.)

I also have a pond in my back yard, stocked with an indeterminate number of koi, goldfish, and other critters. It's a very relaxing spot to spend a quiet afternoon.
When I am not working (secondary school teacher), I indulge in a number of pastimes:
For example, I am director of the Windsor Sun Parlour Chorus. This is a group of male singers who enjoy singing barbershop.
That's me in the centre, in the bright red vest. Nice costumes. eh?
The tartan is the official tartan of Essex County, the Sun Parlour of Canada.
I also sing bass with a barbershop quartet, Border Crossing.
Border Crossing (left to right) has Rob Grimmell, tenor; Matt Tipton singing lead; me on bass; and Roy Gurney, baritone.
We are all members of SPEBSQSA , the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc.
By the way, this site includes links to a lot of barbershop and a capella sites, some of them with sound bytes.
I am Local
Secretary for the local chapter of Mensa,
and a member of the Another Fine Mess Tent of the Sons
of the Desert, the international Laurel and Hardy fan
club.
I enjoy playing cards, making (and
drinking) beer and wine, and I can whip up a pretty
good pot of chili. ![]()

I cook a lot of non-hot stuff, as well, since the only thing Adele knows how to operate in the kitchen is the telephone. For a good link to lots of recipes, click here.
My friend Jim Tracey and I have created a couple of hot sauces. If you would like to hear more about Ol' Shack Sweet 'n' Hot Sauces, click here.
I enjoy travelling, and have been to Australia, Fiji, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, and other parts of North America. I enjoy cruising the best, and have been on a couple in the Caribbean, and plan on taking the Alaska cruise soon.
In my spare (!) time, I like puzzles and
word games, and reading mysteries.
My
favourites are the Nero Wolfe
stories by Rex Stout, The
Brother Cadfael series by Ellis Peters, and of
course, Sherlock
Holmes.
Though I don't often go to the cinema, I do
enjoy movies, especially the films of Alfred Hitchcock.
I have some thirty of his films on video.
