About Brazil

MY Life in Brazil

I live in the town of Formiga.  My town has about 70,000 inhabitants; it is 200 miles from Belo Horizonte (the biggest and capital of my state)  and is located in the central western area of the state of Minas Gerais, which is in the southern part of Brazil.  We have a small College with many options of courses, which attracts many students of my county area.  Formiga doesn't have many industries, except chalk industries.  Our economics is about the commerce and tourism; already here is a region that Furnas Lake (an important Brazilian Hydroelectric) is found.  In agriculture, highlight the coffee plantations.

I live in a house in downtown, near by the commercial area, schools and hospital.  My room is a suite and I have a writing desk, where I do my schoolwork.  My house is about one mile and a half from my School and I walk with other friends that I meet on the way.

My school starts at 7:00 am.  Before school I meet some friends that live near by me and we go together to our High School.  I have 6 periods for a day during fifty minutes and a break of twenty minutes.  I leave school at 12:20 going home for lunch.  In the afternoon I do my obligations (homework, projects and I study for tests and quizzes) and also do extra-curricular classes, like English and Computers (both away from school).  When I finish, I go to sport practice and afterwards I watch TV and prepare for the next day.  In my school schedule is composed for fourteen subjects, between Math, Portuguese, Literature, English, Spanish, World Geography, World History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Arts, Athletics and Sociology.  All these subjects are required and my schedule is varied from day to day.  I will graduate December of 2004.

One of the best things I like to do is travel.  Nothing is better than spending my holidays going somewhere very cool or someplace that makes me feel good.  Also I like to sleep, relax at our Ranch or go somewhere with my friends to have a good time.
