Modems

When using MacOS 7.6.x or higher you'll be working with the Modems control Panel. Apple did a good job at this OpenTransport Modems interface for quick setup.

Items needed to complete setup

• Knowledge of the Make and Model of your modem.
• Knowledge of your telephone services. (ie. call answer)

To begin...

• Click on Apple Menu. (located in top left)
• Click on Control Panel.
• Click on Modems.

• Select the Double Arrows for Connect via and choose Modem Port
.
• Select the Double Arrows for Modem and choose your modem (ie. for iMacs, Internal 56k)
• Choose a Sound suitable to your needs.
• Choose a Dialing suitable to your phone line.
• Enabling Ignore dial tone is a work-a-round for by-passing Call Answer (VoiceMail) services intermittent dial tone.
