Microsoft Frontpage 2004.

Microsoft Frontpage 2004 is the latest of Microsoft's webpage authoring software. With simplistic and strong features for creating webpages Microsoft also has made publishing your site to servers not supporting Frontpage Server Extentions easy.

First step is to make FrontPage 2004 understand what server it is dealing with. WINCOM curently runs a UNIX based operating system using Apache as the Webserver application and does not support FrontPage Server Extentions or Sharepoint Services.

So FrontPage can be informed of WINCOM's configuration and also your target viewers by clicking onto Tools -> Page Options.... Select the tab called Authoring. The first drop down box for FrontPage and SharePoint Technologies make sure it is selected to None. Observe the bottom options for your personal webpage complatibility. Click on OK to save those settings.

The next step is to create your site. WINCOM does have a hitcounter and an email form for customers to use. The instructions for the use of those tools are in the WINCOM Web support page. The instructions supply you with sample HTML source which you can inject to your HTML. You're on your own when it comes to the content and structure of your site, there are multitudes of support pages on the net for website creation. Here's some links for a couple:

CNET's Builder.com
W3C - The World Wide Web Consortium
HTML Help

Okay, so you have finished your site and are pleased with its looks and functionality so your next step if to publish your site.

Click onto File -> Publish Site... or use the Publish button. This will produce a screen labeled Remote Web Site Proterties similar to the screenshot

In the Remote Web Site tab click on FTP; with the "Remote Web site location" type in ftp://ftp.wincom.net/public_html
If prompted for Name and Password Required fill in your WINCOM username and password in the screen. WINCOM username and password is universal thoughout our system from dialup to checking email. If you do not know your username or password please contact us.

After you have filled in the Username and Password for your site, you'll be given a standard Left-Side/Right-Side FTP screen. To send your site on over click on Publish Web site. Once completed your website address is in the form of HTTP://www.wincom.net/username or HTTP://www.wincom.net/~username, same thing.

If at any point you have came across problems and you have double checked that everything is correct, please provide us with the exact error message so that we know how to assist you. Customers can always contact us at anytime, and information is located on our Contact page
