The Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces take the issues of gender integration, sexual harassment and the need to reform the military justice system seriously.  To assist you to identify what measures have been taken or promised, and to set the standards they wish to achieve, you will find information in the links below:

• Office of the Judge Advocate General
  The JAG Office provides oversight and supervision to the administration of the Military Justice System.
  
  
• The National Defence D-Net: Amendments to the National Defence Act
  A broad outline of the National Defence act and Code of Conduct
  
  
• The Ombudsman's Office
  current or former Regular or Reserve member of Canadian Forces, current or former member of Cadet movement or a family member of such a person, Any family member or a current or former Regular or Reserve Force member of the Canadian Forces, Any current or forever DND member or employee, and any non-public fund employee of DND - May bring a complaint to the Ombudsman's office, directly and free of charge where the matter complained about relates directly to DND or to the CF. The Ombudsman's office will refer any complaints he/she receives, which fall within the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Veterans Review and Appeal Board, to that Department.
  
  

The ombudsman's office has been given special permission to investigate 27 older cases.
