RELEASE For
Immediate Release – Friday, September 14, 2001 WINDSOR:
The Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of our entire
business community, expresses our deepest sympathies to all who have been
affected by the tragic events over the past three days. On this Day of Mourning,
we encourage you to express corporate and personal gestures of sympathy, i.e.,
by flying your flags at half-mast or participating in various local memorial
services. Together
with the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, we strongly support President
Bush’s intent to “quickly resuscitate hundreds of U.S. and foreign firms
and a core network of financial exchanges that were buried beneath the rubble of
the collapsed World Trade Center. The fight against terrorism can be won only if
the financial system can show that it is back in business.” The
Chamber of Commerce continually strives to achieve peace and prosperity through
international commerce.
The Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce sends condolences to Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, District of Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. To view the letter click here.

Members of the Windsor & Dear
Members: On
behalf of our entire business community, the Windsor & District Chamber of
Commerce has expressed our deepest sympathies to all who have been affected by
the tragic events that took place last week – via the Chambers of Commerce in
the District of Columbia, Greater New York, Manhattan and Detroit. Together
with the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, we strongly support President
Bush’s intent to “quickly resuscitate hundreds of U.S. and foreign firms
and a core network of financial exchanges that were buried beneath the rubble of
the collapsed World Trade Center. The fight against terrorism can be won only if
the financial system can show that it is back in business.” We
are now in daily communication with the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce,
Canadian Consul General and various government agencies. We are aware that there are pressing economic and border issues and we will do our best to communicate them to the appropriate decision makers. If you have any issues with respect to the operation of your business, please bring them to our attention immediately. We will do our utmost to address them as best we can. Please contact Linda Smith, President at 966-3696, ext. 22. Michael
