CHAMBERS PLEASED WITH GOVERNMENTS USING SCHWARTZ AS FOUNDATION FOR BORDER ANNOUNCEMENTS 

On April 21st, 2005 the Federal and the Provincial government announced they have made funding available for various aspects of the local Border related infrastructure. Commenting on the announcements, Don Marsh, Chairman of the Windsor & District Chamber Board of Directors stated that “there were intriguing appetizers being passed around but no commitment to the main course”.

BORDER CHOKEPOINTS DRAINING U.S. ECONOMIC POTENTIAL

Washington D.C., April 21, 2005 - The economic loss of Border Delays is conservatively measured at $471,461 per hour - each and every hour of the day. The Ontario Chamber of Commerce released this information in its United States Economy study released on Thursday. The OCC also found a corresponding loss of potential employment - particularly in the manufacturing and transportation industries.
