NEW
REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY APPROVED
BY CITY AND COUNTY
March
30, 2006 - A unanimous decision of Essex
County Council and Windsor City Council has
committed the region to a new Regional
Economic Development Strategy. The
strategy includes a new organization that
will aid existing business and industry in
exploring new prospects, recruit investors,
market the diverse assets of the region and
facilitate new product commercialization and
development.

BORDER
FILE UPDATE - CHAMBER
SENDS LETTER TO MICHIGAN LEGISLATORS ON DRIC
PROCESS
March
29, 2006 - The Windsor & District
Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to the
Michigan Legislature stating that the
current Border environmental assessment
process conducted by the Detroit River
International Crossing (DRIC) partnership
has provided proper public
consultations with Windsor-Detroit Border stakeholders such
as the Windsor & District Chamber of
Commerce. The Chamber urged the
legislature to take an active role in the
timely completion of an additional Detroit
River border crossing. Click
