Under
a slogan "Meet the Candidates Event" the
Chamber invited political candidates from all three ridings and

Federal Election 2004
Windsor
& District Chamber of Commerce -
Response
to the 2004 Federal Election Results
Windsor, Ontario June
29, 2004
“While
we will have a minority government, which has not always been positive
in developing new business friendly initiatives, the good news is that
we will have a Prime Minister that has a solid record in balancing the
books.
From
a national perspective, we have a return of an effective two-party system
that will keep the government focused and accountable. In Windsor, we
have two seasoned and proven MP’s in Joe Comartin and Brian Masse,
both publicly committed to finding solutions for our border. In the
riding of Essex, with Jeff Watson getting his opportunity to be in
Parliament, we get to watch the Conservative party up close. We wish to
thank Susan Whelan, the departing MP, for her service to the riding and
our region.
We
are looking forward to a sound government that is kept in check when it
comes to its finances and its commitments.”
Don
Marsh
Chair
of the Board of Directors
