The Chamber is encouraging its members to attend these three events, as the best way to be informed about the local candidates and their views in this election. A continental breakfast will be provided with a nominal charge to cover the cost. Details about the debate and the election are available on our Elections Web Page

ONTARIO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ISSUES REPORT ON COSTS OF BORDER DELAYS

Border delays are costing the Ontario economy billions of dollars, according to a study released by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. The clogged and inefficient border crossings are taking $5.25 billion a year out of the Ontario economy and the overall loss to Canada's economy is estimated at $8.3 billion.

Michael Robinson, the Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce Spokesperson on Border Issues and the Chamber's representative on the Ontario Chamber's Border & Trade Development Committee, provided comments on the report. "We're trying to get every level of government focused on this. We had announcement after announcement but not much action," Robinson said in a statement to the media.
