URGENT
NEED FOR REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
On
March 10, 2006 the Chamber issued a media release addressing
the Economic Development initiative led by the City of
Windsor and County of Essex. In
its release the Chamber stated a number of measures that
would expedite the transition from the current Economic
Development environment to a more successful economic model.
These measures include:

Regional
scope for the new Economic Development organization
·
Business-led
Board of Directors
·
Appropriate
and proportional funding for Economic Development
·
Transfer
of responsibilities for Economic Development to the new
Board of Directors as soon as possible

BUDGET THIS WEEK

government’s third Budget on Thursday March 23, 2006 at
approximately 4:00 pm. The
Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce Finance &
Taxation Committee will provide its opinion of the 2006
Provincial Budget after the Budget is read in the Ontario
