STEVE
GILCHRIST CUTS THROUGH
THE
RED TAPE
The
Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host the first in
a province-wide series of meetings being held by the Red Tape Commission
beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2001. Steve Gilchrist,
Co-Chair of the Commission and M.P.P. Scarborough East, will conduct an
Information Seminar which has been designed as a means to hear concerns
about government red tape and barriers to business growth.
Following
Mr. Gilchrist’s address, there will be a ‘question & answer’
period followed by round-table discussions where participants can voice
their concerns and talk about their personal experiences with unnecessary
rules and regulations.
“Economic
competitiveness cannot be taken for granted,” said Linda Smith,
President of the Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce. “I’m
pleased to see that the Red Tape Commission is actively seeking input and
advice from small- and medium-sized business across Ontario.”
The
Red Tape Commission wants to hear about the barriers small business people
face so they can take appropriate action to fix them. By removing
unnecessary red tape, they are helping to create a positive business
climate that attracts investment and job creation.
