THE CHAMBER RECOMMENDS PHASE-IN PERIOD FOR NEW DEVELOPMENT CHARGES

Speaking on behalf of the Chamber at City Council, Monday, August 30th, 2004, Shakti Wadehra, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors presented the Chamber's position on development charges. He stated that, "the Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce is not opposed to an increase in development charges but recommends a phase-in period to lessen any potential impact on the local housing industry." He stressed the need for greater accountability and the use of lower development charges as an incentive for new growth in the City.

ONTARIO CHAMBER SUBMITS ITS GREAT LAKES ST. LAWRENCE SEAWAY POLICY TO ONTARIO MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

In its submission, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce urges the Government of Ontario to Promote the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway system potential and provide appropriate funding to develop this vital transportation resource. Click Here to obtain the full submission.
