The Kuzyk and Werbowecki Families
Updated September
6, 2010
For several years John Michael
Kuzyk and others have been collecting paraphernalia in the form of photographs
and lineage charts to trace our ancestry. They have managed to follow our roots
from the present day to Hryhory Kuzyk and Apolonia Verblin to the year 1851 and
geographically, to the small town of Ivaniwka, in the Ternopil region of the
Ukraine.
John enlisted the
help of his granddaughter Elizabeth Theresa Kuzyk who helped in a major way by
putting into text her conversations with Annie (Kuzyk) Werbowecki. Anne (Werbowecki) Morris has also given us
much insight by conveying information about her mother Mary (Kuzyk) Werbowecki.
Recently this project of our
heritage has been passed to me. I am
now armed with stacks of papers, notes and pedigree charts of most relatives
and I continue to gather more data as others contribute to this task. Always feel free to email me at anytime
regarding updates, corrections or whatever.
To see how the Family Tree
is progressing you can visit three enirely different
websites and yes, eventually a hard copy will be produced.
1. A detailed description, in text format, of our
roots.
http://www.wincom.net/~bernnewm/photoalbum/family/report.html
Because of the
detail this is a private site so no one else has access to it.The only way you
can find it is by clicking on this link.
Bookmark it so you can easily refer to it.
OR
2. A graphic display of our Family Tree.
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/n/e/w/Bernie-Newman-ON/
This
is a public site so minimal information is available. There are pictures and an
interactive Family Tree. Be sure to read the instructions at the site on how to
navigate through the Tree. It is interactive and interesting to use, though you
do have to be patient while a java applet loads. Through marriage other family
trees are linked to us and if that information was available it is included.
OR
3. A downloadable PDF file of
the Family Tree.
http://www.wincom.net/~bernnewm/photoalbum/family/famtree.pdf
This
file can be downloaded, reviewed and printed at your leisure on your own
computer. Acrobat Reader is needed to read the file and can be
downloaded free of charge here.
Enjoy,
Sincerely,
Bernie Newman
