Don Martel was born in Windsor, Canada's most southern city.

While attending courses in Business Administration, photography grabbed his attention.  However, his studies brought him a 11 year career in the computer field that took him from coast to coast in Canada and the United States.

Numerous workshops prepared him for the inevitable, a switch to his passion and current mainstay, photography.

His 1999 career highlight was undoubtedly  his collaboration in the, "
Freeman Patterson",Spring workshops held in New Brunswick.  Followed by co-lecturing with Marike Bruwer on two workshops on the west coast of South Africa in 2001.    In the Fall of 2001 he will conducted two, one week workshops at Singing Sands near Tobermeory  with Marike.  Since then has done week long workshops with James Sidney at the sands and now Weekend workshops  in his home town of Tecumseh Ontario.

Freelancing for the last 17 years has brought him a wide variety of experiences and a wealth of assignments.

He has also given lectures and presentations to numerous groups including  Windsor Camera Club,  London Camera Club, Lake Shore Camera Club, Huntsville Camera Club,  and presenter at Niagara Falls Regional Camera Clubs Fall seminar 2005.
