birding ecuador

Here are images from my birding trip to Ecuador in January-February 2008 (with a few from 2007). January 15 to 22 was spent in the southern regions of Ecuador with Tom Hince and then I joined Tom’s group January 23 to February 2 in northern Ecuador. The tour spent roughly half time on the west slope of the Andes and half on the east slope.  Highlights of the trip included seeing 70 species of hummingbirds (see the hummingbird page), 80 species of tanagers, both umbrellabirds, antpittas, and Orange-breasted Falcon.
