Membership Development and Retention Program

1. Formed a membership committee of "2" members to go after new members.
2 .Had a short assembly on "How to Propose a New Member"
3. At this assembly, we passed out a form for each member to put down a least 3 names
4. The Membership Committee narrowed down the names to a "HIT LIST"
5. We invited the "Hit List" to a Membership Social at the home of one of our members.
6. We presented a short fireside chat about Rotary - 30 minutes.
7. The rest of the time was spent socializing.
8. We proposed and inducted "5" new members.
9. We had another Fireside social with also the "Junior Rotarians"

One key to the success is that we have kept the some two people on the membership committee for the past two years.

Recruiting members is an ongoing, year-round effort.

Also key is involving all members in providing prospect names to start the process and really pushing for a good turnout at our socials.

We also make the new member induction ceremony a special event.

We are developing a "new member mentor" program to help the new members remain informed. Also we plan to encourage these new members to supply new names for our ongoing membership program.

Next month the Membership Committee will again gather names of "prospects" and continue the recruiting process.
