Community Assistance Program - Grant Approved

Rotary International Foundation approved Southgate Rotary Club's CAP Grant.

Southgate Rotary authored the grant application to TRF, with the collaboration of 9 other clubs, to provide violence prevention curriculum, reading books, and Rotarian readers for pre-school programs like Head Start that services low-income families. The 10 clubs will be paired with local Head Start or Michigan School Readiness Programs in their club areas to help with distributing and reading books to the children. In addition, they will be important in reinforcing the positive concepts that the children learn from their violence prevention curriculum. See the proposal. This will be a great demonstration of what 10 clubs can do together in a regional area
