Bonjour tout le monde!!!!

First off, I want to apologise for taking so long putting all this info on the site. Better late than never, right?

Anyways, Belgium!!!! I arrived here August 24, 2003. The plane ride was long and when I got here, the French was fast! IÕve been here for over 5 months now and IÕve learned a lot! IÕve learned to be more open, to be more patient, to never give up, and most importantly to believe in yourself.

I recently switched host families and itÕs great. I have a host father (Alexandre), host mother (Edith), host brother( Guillame), and host sister (Anne Sophie). Each and every one of them helps me learn and acquire French skills that you would never be able to learn anywhere else.

So far in Belgium IÕve been to Ghent, Li¸ge, Brugge, Anvers, and Leuven. The culture and people are very different from CanadaÕs, but never the less interesting and welcoming. The reason I chose Belgium is because I took French all through high school (Holy Names) with the inspiration of a teacher. He not only made French interesting to learn, but also described Europe as a whole entire different universe.

Everyday I feel like my French is improving, along with my understanding. I hope for everyone on exchange, and for those of you planning on going on exchange, you are all very successful. Although at times it can be unbelievably and terribly hard, faith and drive is all you really need. I will try my best to keep you all updated!

ŅFear less, hope more;
Whine less, breathe more;
Talk less, say more;
Hate less, love more;
And all good things are YOURS.Ó -> Swedish Proverb
Fact: Belgium was recently voted as one of the best countries for an exchange
