Begin
planning for Rotary Centennial now Rotary clubs worldwide are
encouraged to start developing plans for celebrating Rotary's
Centennial during the 2004-05 Rotary year. Our DGN Jim Ives
will be our district governor.
All clubs are invited to participate in Rotary Club Centennial
Community Projects, a widespread community-service effort designed
to showcase thousands of Rotary club contributions to local
communities. To participate, clubs should register their centennial
community projects with RI by 1 July 2003.
Projects must meet a clearly identifiable community need, provide
a solution with measurable results, involve Rotarians personally,
and place a permanent marker at the project site identifying
the sponsoring club and the Rotary Centennial. All projects
must be completed by February 2005.
Clubs
can register their projects online at www.rotary.org or by
mail or fax, using the registration form included in the centennial
promotion kit were sent to all clubs in September 2002. The
kit will provide information on the centennial projects as
well as tools to assist clubs in promoting the centennial
at the local level. These include a list of ideas for celebrating
and publicizing the Rotary Centennial in the community, historical
information and photos, the official Rotary Centennial logo,
and a set of 10 postcards featuring a sampling of Rotary stamps
from around the world and recent photos of Rotary in action.
These materials will be available in print and on CD-ROM,
allowing clubs to use the format that is more convenient for
them.

new Centennial
section of the RI Web site. This section has all the information
