ROTARY INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 6400

GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE 2004

Michael Duben - District Chairperson
Bruce Goldsen - Co-Chairperson

Our Rotary District wants to give four business people a chance of a lifetime. Our International District serves Essex County in Canada and Lenawee, Monroe and Wayne Counties in Michigan. The GSE committee selected Robert "Bob" Gordon, from the Adrian Morning club, as the leader, and Sharon Maier from Grosse Pointe as the alternate.

We are going to have a intensive four to six week visit to in April and May of 2004. We are looking for people who would be proud to be enthusiastic representatives of North America and Rotary International. This team would immerse themselves in the social and business culture of northern Greece, Bulgaria,Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. You will stay at Rotarian Homes. All Rotarians conduct these business exchanges on a strict and complete non-profit basis! All expenses are paid by Rotary International Foundation!

Applications need to be submitted before December 1st!
Rotary Greetings, I am serving as CO-chair of this year's District Group Study Exchange committee.

This year's exchange will be with District 2480, which includes nearly 100 clubs in Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia (the former Yugoslavia), Serbia & Montenegro.

We are very excited that we will be able to exchange a team with thisÊpart of the Rotary World that is new to our District's GSE program. While we are still working out specific details, and hope to have a brochure printed within a few weeks, I would like every club in the district to immediately be on the lookout for team members, and consider whether there is anyone in your club who might be a great team leader for this exchange.

The outbound portion of the exchange will take place during April 2004, and will be between 30-35 days.Ê It will include attendance at District 2480's District Conference April 16-18. District 2480 will be sending its team to District 6400 during May, so that they may attend our District Conference in Mackinac Island May 6-9th.

Once again, this is preliminary information for this year's G.S.E.Ê More details will be forthcoming.Ê Thank you for helping spread the word both within your club (for team leaders) and in your community (for team members). Please e-mail me if you have questions about the exchange, and I will try to answer them. Yours in Rotary,

Bruce Goldsen D-6400 GSE CO-chair
